Do I have to sign a contract?
Do I have to sign a contract? No, we have no contracts. We have no memberships. There is no financing involved whatsoever.Nor any start-up, join-up, or stop fees. No added fees whatsoever. We strictly work on a one month prepayment . You pay for your entry card to operate for the upcoming month (the card/key must be initially purchased for activation, and has a small one-time fee of usually $10 or less. This is yours and can be reused. If you don't pay for the next month it automatically doesn't operate.) The only paper work is an agreement to show what you can expect from us, limited personal information we need from you for your safety and convenience (which we share with no one) ,what behaviour we expect from you, and it also works as a liability release.
Do I have personal trainers? Or is there someone that can help me on the equipment? We offer no free personal trainers; though our staff will be happy to help you with any questions you may have. And of course, as an initial orientation, we don't expect you to be aware of all our amenities and features that are offered on our equipment that is not even available at most ladies' clubs. However, we are not equipped to be there for every workout, as a personal motivator, as a personal trainer would be. We encourage you to bring your own personal trainer if desired. If fact, if you are not familiar with strength-training equipment we would highly desire you to hire one.(see clause in the agreement.). The cost to have one would be the hourly fees negotiated between you and the trainer, just as you would if you trained at home with one. For purposes of practicality and to honor the other members, of course we all would prefer for that person to be a female. The cost for the trainer to be with you in our facility, would be just as if they were a regular customer.
Do you offer aerobics classes? Yes, in video (DVD) form. There is a seperate room for this activity, but structured classes are not required. As with our other flexible features, you are welcome to enjoy our facilities as you wish. If a group of customers desire to meet together for the comeraderie, a bulletin board is provided for your convenience. (And to make others aware of your preference for that room at a specified time.) The room, equipment (balls, etc.), tv's ,dvd player and library of tapes is at your disposal.
If I join in the middle of the month do I still pay for a full month? The choice is up to you. According to how you want to pay. Normally the minimum accepted is a full month payment . Since we have no join-up fees, the added paperwork of just calculating miscellaneous dates of joining, from that date to the following month date, would be too time-consuming. Everyone is due on the first of the month, period. The simple calculation cuts administative costs, the saving of which is passed on to the customer. (also,if someone signed up close to the end of the month, they would have bare minimum invested with complete access, which would not be fair to the other members, and we would not be comfortable giving someone such privileges in that situation. It may encourage theft, breech our secure atmosphere and allow misuse of the facility.) So you see, this is for the betterment of all the customers . The ONLY way a partial month is accepted is if the next month was paid (or promised to pay, as in an auto-debit("EFT") at the same time. If this is not good for you, a full month is due.
Is it safe to workout in the middle of the night when staff is not there? Yes. Since the doors stay locked, no one can enter except paid members that we have information on, which highly deters most people that may have something other than training in mind. The camera survelience also aids as a deterent. Also, we have noticed from our other facilities, the nature of extended hours usually attract professional civic workers such as policemen, nurses, etc. that already serve the public. In fact, it may be a little safer than during the day when the door is opened to prospective customers that we have no information on yet.
Is the Children's area supervised? Not officially by our staff, though some facilities have the area close to the main office. We expect the parents to provide the discipline and oversight needed though we provide toys and the like. We also provide constant camera survelience for you to view as you are training.
Do I have to pay extra for tanning? No, our monthly dues include everything we have in house. No hidden charges either.
Can my friends workout with me occasionally? Definitely. We want everyone to know about our facility. However, to be fair to paying customers, we limit the visit to one time. Of course, they are expected to follow the rules and to sign in, in order to have a record of such.
If I am a EFT member how do I cancel my membership? How far in advance should I let you know I want to cancel? A simple phone call with no hassels or sales pitches. We don't need any kind of reason. No penalties, anything. HOWEVER, in the past, a few have taken advantage of our congeniality and tried to profit from it, so now we need a written proof for our records. A cancellation form needs to be signed as soon as you can after the call (BUT the "official" date will be when the form is turned in.) This needs to be taken care of before the first of the month that you want to cancel. (The system debits your account automatically around the first.)
Do you offer group rates? With our low prices, it is hard to do, but we try to accomadate. It will vary on the circumstance, so it must have a consultation with the owner or manager.
Can I pay for months in advance? Yes, but for only 6 months, otherwise it would be a contract. The advantage to you would be a savings (usually equivalent to an EFT customer.) We do not penalize you for paying in advance, i.e.: Even though it is "cash" you would not be denied any feature the EFT customers enjoy such as calling to stop. If for any reason you realize you can not use the month(s) paid for, you can CALL IN ADVANCE to put your entry access on hold, it can be added to the end of your term, OR if you see you can not use it at all, we will refund your money We do not believe in taking people's money for no services. HOWEVER, this has to be done IN ADVANCE, not after the fact. (In the past, customers have argued the fact that they did not use the facility and wanted a refund, and they did not call in. We cannot do so because of the fact that the facility was available for their use and not our responsibility it was not used by them. The opportunity was provided by us for them to take advantage of their needs and they did not do so.)
If my daughter is under the age of 14, do I have to be with her when she wants to work out? And is she allowed to tan? Yes, and no. As a legal guardian, you are responsible for her welfare. This would also apply to the tanning; however, we would hesitate to be in any way responsible by giving any kind of ok to you for her, so we'd rather not.
Is there some kind of routine or circuit training you could get me started on when I first join? Yes, we offer numerous tips, and have sample routines that can be used. However, as stated previously, we are not personal trainers.
Do I have to have an appointment to come and take a tour of the facility? No. Just so the staff is on duty, which is during the stated business hours. (Otherwise, the doors are locked , and only paid customers with key/cards can enter.)
How do I get in the facility when the staff is not there? As a paid customer, your key will be activated to open the door for the month(s) that you have paid for. As an inquiry customer, the door is locked except during business/staffed hours. HOWEVER, if a call is made during staffed hours, an appointment can be made to meet you there at off times.
